{snr} decemeber projects

Yay, I get to share some of the projects I had in the December issue of Scrapbook News and Review Magazine!    Have you checked them out recently?  Katie is revamping the site and adding some new features that will make it a very exciting place to hang out!  We work hard to make the message board fun and exciting.  If you are interested in Mixed Media, check out that thread on the message board!  Whether you are a beginner or well versed in the mixed media arts, there is something for you!  Some very talented, knowledgeable folks post some really great information there!  Stamping? Cards? Scrapping?  All there.

Here are some of my favorite projects I had in the December issue:

My love for the Girls' Paperie Tinsel and Twig line is unmatched!  :)
Here is a close-up of the stitching I did on the big photo:

I love the texture it gives this photo.

Here is a stocking GC holder I made.  Looking at it now with fresh eyes, I think it needs some contrasting stitching on the heel and toe patches!

Here is a simple layout of my parents.  I tucked little journaling strips in the ruffle, things they liked to do and little facts about their life together:

A layout, based on a sketch, of one of my favorite photos of my Dad.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.  I appreciate your kind comments more than I can say!

  2. My goodness! Where do I even start with these projects? They are each outstanding. So many amazing, creative, innovative touches on each and every one. I am blown away by the stitching on the photo, the words in the sheer ruffle and that tag treatment of the vintage photo. Don't even get me started on the pattern combos. Holy cow Jan - you are a scrapbooking/cardmaking tour de force!!

  4. Wow. The last page of your father is spectacular, Jan. He would be so proud of you!! Love the colors and embellies - that enhance what is already such a fab photo (you are so lucky to have that!). Your stitching on Brian's lo - hello!!! All kinds of awesome!! That is a technique I will need to remember. All of your SNR projects are wonderful, Jan! :)

  8. These are so lovely. Love your details, like bling on the ribbon flower, and layers of ribbon trims, and the journaling strips lightly masked under the ribbon. Stitching right on the photo. WoW!
