{happy}

Guess who is celebrating their 3rd anniversary?  The Play Date Cafe! Check out the fun challenge (hint: fall colors are so pretty this time of year!) and all the prizes they are giving away! They are trying to get to 2000 (wow!) followers!

Grab Our Badge!

I adore these 3 colors, but using them together was a bit of a challenge for me as I had no pattern paper that worked well with all 3 colors.  What's a girl to do?  I found some lovely dotted Bo Bunny card stock and made a mini banner on a big banner piece!

Gratitude
I have a hard time using any kind of chevron pattern so I'm happy I got to use it on the tag!  Of course, the sticker sentiments are SRM.  Thanks for a fun challenge, Play Date Cafe!

{card sketch}

It is the middle of the month (again. how?) and that means Lucy has another fabulous card sketch over at My Sketch World!  This one is very versatile, but I made it pretty much as is because I had a cool star tag from Elle's Studio!

Happy Birthday

I cut the end off the sentiment tag and placed it on the other side of the star and added the white ends to give it a little more length and to contrast against the dark card stock.

Thanks for stopping by - have a great day, friends!

{tag trio plus one}

My friend, Nicole showed the girls at MSW how to make a cute angel out of a scalloped circle punch.   She gave us this easy to follow photo tutorial:

For one of our challenges for the WCMD Crop we are having she issued us a challenge to make 4 simple Christmas cards.  If we used the angel we get bonus points.  :)

I made this trio of tags:

plus one:

She is for the Let's Get Trendy Washi Challenge.  I used Martha Stewart tape to make the angel.  The deadline to enter the Trendy Challenges is midnight tonight.

Happy Friday, friends!

{winner}

My very own random number generator (Brian, age 9!)  :) has chosen the winner of Elle's Everyday Greetings printables!  Brian chose number 4, which is Lynn!  Congrats, Lynn!  I will have Elle email them to you!  I hope you enjoy them every bit as much as I did!

Speaking of enjoying them, here are 2 more cards I used the labels on:

Hello There

 I used this terrific sketch from Kim Kesti. I straightened the tag and slanted the pattern paper.  :)

All I did for this second card was to round the corners slightly on the thank you tag to give it a "balloon like" appearance (it's a stretch, I know!)

Thank You

This came together quickly.  The most time consuming thing was attaching the twine to both the balloon and basket.  :)

The third and final card (are you still with me?)  ;)  is for the 3 Cool Chicks Let's Get Trendy 2 Hexagon challenge.

Happy Birthday

Julie, Amy and Yvonne have put together 5 awesome challenges!  The deadline is Friday, October 12th.  I'm hoping to get the rest done!  :)

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Wednesday to you!

Happy World Card Making Day!

I've been making cards for about 7 years now.  I started out as a scrapper and still do layouts, but when I see new product my mind goes to cards first!  :)  Today I will be featuring 2 cards with new products!

The first uses the Christmas We've Got Your Border sticker set from SRM.

Aren't they fun?  They are so easy to work with!

Here is my card:

I like to try to come up with different ways to use the borders on my cards.  For instance, on this card I placed the red and white striped scallop border on a transparency sheet, cut it out and then snipped off each scallop and adhered them to the back of the circle embellishment.  I also cut apart the "merry & bright" border, mounted them on cardstock and placed them on either side of the circle.

Please check out the SRM blog to see what the other designers did with the We've Got Your Border collections.  There will be a challenge to create a card based on one of the designer's cards with a big prize pack up for grabs!

Please stop back by at 9:00 am (EST) for my second blog post of the day.  You will get to see another card and have a chance to win the digital download I used to make it.

{it's starting to look a lot like christmas}

I know, I know - one holiday at a time, right?  :)  Sorry to jump the gun, but I had to do it!  I got the chance to play with the Christmas We've Got Your Border set by SRM.  I decided to decorate a kraft gift bag and make it more Christmassy.  :)

I added a white card stock panel to the front of the gift bag and placed the border stickers on the top, sides and bottom.  I cut a tree shape out of another piece of card stock and added the borders to it.  I used the sentiments from the Christmas Stickers by the Dozen set for the trunk.  I adhered the tree to the bag and then used embroidery floss to outline it with a running stitch. If I had to do it again I would do all of that before adhering the whole panel to the bag - stitching through the bag was a tad tricky.  ;)

I finished it off with a tag from the Christmas Labels by the Dozen set and some Twinery twine in Christmas colors!

Are you card makers excited about World Card Making Day this Saturday?  I am!  There are some exciting things going on that I will be part of so if you have time, stop by!

Happy Monday, friends!
