{new DT} The Studio Challenges

I am thrilled to announce I am a new member of The Studio Challenge blog!  This week we have an awesome sketch to get your mojo flowing!  I normally scrap in an 8x11.5 format but decided to stay true to the sketch and do a 12x12.  The only thing I changed up was the orientation of the photo.

Lucky Bum

Papers: Pebbles and We R Memory Keepers, Felties: Pebbles, Brads: We R Memory Keepers, Letters: AC Thickers and Basic Grey, SRM Stickers, Punches: EKSuccess, Hand & machine stitching.

As most of you know, we have a new member of our family, Lucky, a Cornish Rex kitten.  He has little quirks that we just love and one of our favorites is what he does with his tail.  It is usually wrapped beside his body like this or curled around one of his legs.  So this photo inspired the cheeky title of "Lucky Bum".  I was amazed at all the adorable cat lines out there.  3 Bugs in a Rug just came out with a really cute line that I picked up yesterday!  :)  Thank you Scrappy Chic!

Please check out the sketch and the other amazing layouts of the DT here.  I hope you can find some scrappy time and play along!

{punny tags}

I love a good punny.  :)  I found these cute Pebbles felties on sale at Michael's last week and knew just what I was going to do with them.  And actually did it the same day I bought them-that is unheard of in my world.  :)   Before I fell in love with SRM Stickers, I made do with rub-ons for most of my card sentiments.  For these tags I combined my first love (rubs) and my true love (SRM)!  I love how they turned out.

Get Whale Soon

Paper: EP and SEI, Feltie: Pebbles, Sentiment & Border Stickers: SRM, Ribbon & Twine: May Arts, Rub: Doodlebug

Here is a close-up, please excuse the nasty coloring:

Paper: MME & SEI, Feltie: Pebbles, Sentiment & Border Stickers: SRM, Ribbon & Twine: May Arts. Rub: Doodlebug, Glass Pebbles: The Robin's Nest

A close-up:

All I did was replace the "w" of the SRM sticker and replaced it with an "f" rub on.

The border stickers are SRM's newest release and they are so much fun!  The ones I used for these tags are from the Baby Boy sheet.  They are very versatile!

Thanks for stopping by.  Share your happy with someone you love today!

{true love}

Happy Valentine's Day!

It is all about old and new with this card.  The new?  The lovely "follow your heart" SRM sentiment sticker.  I use that one a lot, don't I?  Truer words have never been put on a sticker.  :)  The old?  Scenic Route paper. Heidi Swapp transparency word.  That little love rub on is old Making Memories.  If at all possible I like to combine a bit of stash with new goodies.

True Love

One question.  Chocolate or flowers?

Hope love and happiness finds you today!

{follow your heart}

I'm not much of a technique gal, mainly because usually they involve a lot of steps.  I like to keep it simple.  I do however love to play with ribbon.  Strano Designs makes this wonderful product called Ribbon Stiff that works perfectly with their grosgrain ribbon.  It looks and feel a lot like Elmer's Glue.  You brush it on one side of the ribbon and then let dry.  What comes next is up to you.  It cuts easy.  It sews easy.  It weaves (my favorite thing to do!) easy.  You can punch it.  Oh yes you can!  :)

On this card I layered 2 pieces of ribbon after having applied Ribbon Stiff.  I glued them together and fringed them easily with a small sharp scissors and used them as my grass.

Here is a close-up of the pierced lady bug "trail", another simple one step technique I love to do on my cards.

I love how you can use the SRM Sticker Sentiments on the ribbon as well.  Makes placing a sentiment on your card even easier!

Happy Monday, friends and thanks for stopping by today!

{tube holder} gift bag

I'm back again with another find from the Target $1 spot!  I loved this felt gift bag with the XO on it and the pink handle was crying out to be prettied up.

Bag: Target, Tube & Sentiment: SRM Stickers, Ribbon: Reasonable Ribbon

I sewed a piece of gingham ribbon along the handle leaving 2 loops at the ends to hold an SRM tube filled with candy.  I placed the "from the heart" sentiment on a transparency and sewed it on across the XOXO.  Here is a close-up of the tube holder.

A quick and easy way to spice up a gift bag.

My friend Amy, a very talented crafter and maker of all things original, is having a 100th Posy Giveaway!  Leave a comment on her blog for a chance to win an Amy Original.  While you are there, check out all her other wonderful projects, it will be time well spent, I promise!

Happy Sunday, friends!  Hope happy hits you head on today!

(valentine pail} SRM

I had my first project up on the SRM blog yesterday and wouldn't you know I was in bed all day with a stomach bug?  :(  3 out 0f the 5 of us have had it in one form or another.  I'm hoping the other 2 are spared.

Anyway, my project was quick and easy and a perfect giftie for a special person on Valentine's Day!  5 minutes and you'll be done.  :)  I found this pail in the dollar spot at Target.  It is my favorite place to go for cute holiday things. If you've never been, stop and check it out.  You wont be disappointed and you cant beat the prices!

I added the "Happy Valentine's Day" sticker to the front, punched a tag and added the "XO" sticker with some twine and then added a sentiment sticker strip to the handle-something you couldn't do with a stamp or a rub on!  I filled it with candy kisses and someone will be very happy come Valentine's Day.

Here are some close ups:

I'm hoping to get a few more {love} projects up before Valentine's Day.

Happy Wednesday.  Hope happy finds you in some meaningful way today.

{getting my bling on}

Lucy has given us another wonderful card sketch today for the My Sketch World Sketch-a-Thon!

I used the doily in the place of the rectangle shape on the sketch.  I also used Barb's Bling It Up card challenge and added strips and circles of bling, a circle of pearls and a glittery heart.  I love the SRM Fancy Sentiment!  It fits perfectly in that big doily!

Paper: MME, Flower: Prima, Sentiment: SRM, Doily: LYB, Bling: Heidi Swapp, Kaiser Craft

I have had sick kids home for the last week, the flu bug hit us really hard!  Hoping tomorrow everyone is off to school healthy!  :)

Happy Sunday, friends!  I hope you and happy have had a chance to get together today!

{sketch-a-thon}

The 6th annual My Sketch World Sketch-a-Thon is underway!  If you like sketches, both card and layout, then you need to get over to MSW!  This is a month long event with new sketches daily and lots of chances to win awesome prizes!  There are also monthly layout and card challenges that will keep you busy and inspired!

My challenge this month is to make a card with 3 hearts.  I used the first card sketch from the sketch-a-thon for my card.

I Love You

Do you see the hearts?  They are the "leaves" on the beautiful felt flower I bought from Tessa's ETSY shop.  I added a Fancy Sentiment (I Love You) sticker from SRM for the perfect finishing touch!

Hope you can join us over at MSW this month!
