My "Go-To" Girl

My nieces, Maggie & Kate are my "go-to" girls when I want to play with some pretty papers and flowers!  Besides being adorable, they dont mind being stalked with a camera as their mom, my SIL Stephanie, is a scrapper too!  I made this layout for Tammy's Art Inspiration Challenge over at Citrus Tree Studios.

Here is a close-up of the butterfly:

Spring Has Sprung!

Enough with the dreary rainy days already!  Im ready for sunshine and flowers!
I like nothing better than a sunny day, about 70 degrees with a little breeze.
Spring in Michigan is a crap shoot.  We could get snow.  We could get 80
degrees.  We could get a whole week of rain. But. There is always a couple
of my perfect days sprinkled in there to make the snow, heat & rain worth it!

Here is my ode to Spring, if you will:

It is based on this sketch over at My Sketch World:

She Makes Me Happy!

My SIL, Stephanie, is one of my favorite people in the whole world. She radiates love. And sunshine. Always a smile and a hug at the ready. She knows just what to say, and sometimes what not to say.  Love that about her. She is a wonderful wife, mother and friend.  Im lucky to have her in my life! I took this shot of her and her youngest on Easter.  She is as beautiful on the outside as she is on the inside!!

Here is a close-up, I made the heart & wings with my Slice:

I made this layout for a "minimal challenge" over at Memorable Seasons.  Cardstock and a  little bit of pattern paper is all that was required.  Jill has a terrific online store with all the latest and greatest at really good prices!  Keep an eye out on the MB as she is very generous with her sales!

Happy Thursday, friends!!

Pump Up The Mojo!

Lucy posted six great challenges at My Sketch World this weekend. The MB was full of sad stories about missing mojo and these challenges are just the trick to help find it! You have until midnight (PST) Monday (4/19) to do as many challenges as you would like. There will be a random draw for 2 RAKs and really, who doesn't love getting happy scrappy mail?  Here is what I did.

The first is for the Lift Challenge:

This layout if from the 2009 Sketch Layout Challenge:

This is for the 2009 Card Sketch Challenge:

Gettin' My Pink On!

I have been scrapping since 1998. A lot has changed since then. Since I have 3 boys, there
is a lot of blues, greens and browns in my scrapbooks. Which isn't a bad thing, but a girl
has to have a little pink in her life, no? Im pretty sure that's why I started making cards, so
I could play with the pretty stuff! Boys tend not to like flowers and bows on their pages!

I recently found some of Margie Romney-Aslett's The Girl's Paperie, "The Paper Girl" paper
at my LSS. I have to admit, I squealed a little bit, right there in the aisle at the store. It is pretty.
It has a vintage feel that I adore. The patterns are beautiful. The colors are fabulous!

Here is what I did with it.

The first layout I used a sketch by Lucy Chesna.  The last layout I used a sketch by my best scrappy friend, Patti.  She designs for My Sketch World and Citrus Tree Studios.  This was her first ever sketch and is for a challenge this month over at CT!  The middle project is a Slice Cartridge holder that I designed myself!

Have a terrific weekend, friends!

Scrappy Friends

Scrappy friends make the best friends!  They support in time of need.  They "hug" just because.  They are liberal with their praise and their love!  I have met so many fabulous women who love to create as much as I do.  Some of the best hang out at My Sketch World!  I am on the Card Sketch DT there and it is like a second home for me!  If you are looking for a fun scrappy place to hang out, come join us!

Lucy Chesna is the owner/sketch artist at MSW and her sketches are fabulous!  Today is reveal day for the mid-month card and layout sketches.  You can check them out at the MSW Blog  I thought I would share mine with you here.

Have a wonderful day, friends!!
