{lift me up}

Amy Tsuruta is a talented stamper.   She is a talented scrapper.  She is a talented and prolific card maker!  If you haven't seen her cards, you must make it a point to visit her blog, Tsuruta Designs.  She loves to mix colors and patterns and does it oh so well. Her cards have this really happy vibe to them. She is also my "celebrity" lift this week.  :)

I went to her blog looking for a sketch I saw a few months back and had wanted to have a go at, but never did find it, mainly because I got distracted by all the eye candy!  It was a difficult decision, but I finally chose this beauty to lift!

Tag Card by Amy Tsuruta
I love this card's simple design.  The mix of colors and patterns is just fantastic!

Hip-Hooray, Happy Birthday by me

I cut out that little "hip-hooray" banner from the strip at the bottom of the pattern paper, it is the name of the Mind's Eye Paper that I used.

I added an SRM birthday sticker to the cupcake.

I used 2 different colors of twine in the button and loved the result.

Thanks for all the inspiration, Amy!

Happy Saturday, friends!  I hope happy finds each and every one of you today!

{srm/twinery} a perfect match

Twine & SRM stickers go together like peas and carrots (as Forrest Gump would say!).  The whole DT had so much fun playing with the lovely colors of twine from The Twinery!  Check out the SRM blog to see what the designers made!  Check out The Twinery blog to see what their designers did with some SRM goodness!

I made a Mother's Day Gift set.

I found that flower shaped scrubby at the dollar spot at Target.  I added some bath salts to an SRM Tube and then decorated it with some We've Got your Border stickers.

I added a tag made with the Quick Card set and attached it with some Honeydew and Blossom twine.

Thanks for stopping by, friends!  I hope happy finds you today!

{tee}riffic father's day giftie

I love the SRM Tubes!  They are so easy to make a quick gift for that someone special in your life, be it a teacher, a parent or your kiddos!  Fill them up, decorate them (with SRM Stickers, of course!) and add a card or a tag and you're all set!  Today, I've made a Father's Day Tube set!

Tee-riffic Father

I filled the tube with golf tees.  I drilled a hole through the top of the tube, just a bit smaller than the diameter of the tee.  I pushed it down  through the hole until it fit snug and glued a golf ball to the top of the tee.

I applied Strano Designs Ribbon Stiff to a piece of green grosgrain ribbon. Once it was dry I sewed the edge for a finished look and then fringed it (green card stock would work just as well). I used 2-sided stick tape to wrap it around the top of the tube.

I made a tag, attached it with some twine and decorated the tube and golf ball with the SRM Father Quick Cards stickers!  So easy and the perfect gift for the golfer in your life!  :)

If you love twine like I do, you will want to visit the SRM blog on Thursday and Friday!  The Twinery is sponsoring us and you'll want to check out the fun things the DT has come up with using stickers & twine!

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope happy finds you in the most meaningful of ways today!

{heavy lifting}

There are certain "celebrity" blogs I stalk  visit regularly.  Susan Weinroth's "a little bit of me" blog is a favorite.  It is a happy place to visit, full of colorful projects, beautiful photos and loads of inspiration.  Today I found this beauty and knew I needed to lift it.

Thank You by Susan Weinroth

Heartfelt Thanks by me:

The love affair with My Mind's Eye papers continues.  :)  I might make this "celebrity lift" a weekly post.  I rather enjoy not having to worry about the design decisions and just focus my time on paper and embellishment choices.

Happy Friday, friends - I'm hoping happy finds you in some small way today.

{winner}

Winner, winner, chicken dinner!

Suzann, you are the winner of the SRM Stickers!

Thanks to all of you who participated in the My Sketch World Blog Hop!

The Studio Challenges has a new challenge up!  This week pick a song for the title of your layout!  Remember, if you do both challenges this month you will have a chance to win a GC from Craft Island!

Here is my take on the challenge:

Here is a close-up:

My older brothers and sisters were big Beatles fans back in the day and I remember listening to all of their music blaring from the record player (who remembers those?!)  ;)  So choosing one of their songs is a somewhat nostalgic choice for me.  That is the most recent photo of my boys, taken on Brady's birthday which happened to fall on Easter this year.

Happy Tuesday, friends!  I hope a little bit of happy finds you today!

{my scraps & more} blog hop challenge

Lisa, Ginni, and Kristin are scrappy friends from My Sketch World.  They also happen to be on the My Scraps and More DT.  They had a blog hop over the weekend and had a wonderful sketch challenge that I just had to do!  You know me, I cant walk away from a good sketch!  :)  Brady just celebrated his 16th birthday so he is the star of this layout.

My Scraps & More Sketch:

A close up:

Paper: MME, SRM Stickers: Birthday Sentiments and Birthday Borders, Thickers

I love these happy papers!  The SRM Border Stickers worked so well with them! Along the hop the designers each offered up a "present" and we had to choose 3 for our layout.  I chose a candle from Wendy, a bow from Missy and a banner from Aubree.

Thanks to My Scraps and More for a fun hop and an awesome sketch to work with!

{10 minute craft} easter basket

I make no secret of loving SRM Stickers!  While I love and admire my friends' stamping abilities, it just isn't for me. Rub-ons were my "go-to" thing for a long time before my buddy, Val introduced me to those little clear stickers that changed my crafy world!

The sentiment stickers and the newly released border stickers are my favorites!  I used both to decorate a $2 basket I found at, yep that's right, the Dollar Spot at Target!  In just 10 minutes I had this basket decorated and ready for display! Best of all, it would make a really cute kid craft!  It took me longer to decide which cute border stickers to use than it did to apply them to the basket!  :)

Hoppy Easter

Here is a close-up of the handle, I used the daisy chain from the Thank You border set:

A few close-ups of the basket:

I used stickers from the Say It With Stickers Easter set and the Express Yourself Easter set along with We've Got Your Borders Thanks and Birthday.  If you are looking for a craft to do with your kiddos, this is easy and fun!

Happy Wednesday, friends! I hope hoppy, I mean happy, finds you today!  :)

[cubed] srm

Remember the photo cubes that came out a couple years ago?  I loved them then and I kept a few in my stash knowing I would want to do one again sometime.  I love them because they are an easy project with big impact and can sit so nicely on a desk, dresser or table.

I made this one for my son, Brenden who played soccer for his high school team last fall.  4 sides are photos and the top is decorated with a square of pattern paper.  I used SRM's Soccer Say It With Stickers Mini and a few sentiments from the Express Yourself Athlete sheet to decorate the whole thing with.

HAWKS

I wrapped the word "soccer" around 2 sides here:

and added a few well placed word sentiments on these 2 sides:

If you don't have a photo cube, I found this tutorial on how to make one.

Happy Tuesday, friends!
