{reveal day} card sketch

Yesterday Lucy revealed the card sketch for September at My Sketch World

Just a Note
vintage dictionary page, Fancy Pants paper, SRM Sticker Sentiment, Precocious Paper Sweet Spots, Kaiser Craft bling

Don't forget about the ABC Crop that is going at MSW too!  Lots of card and layout challenges till the end of the month!  Check out what the other designers did with this great sketch here.

  The Paper Variety is being sponsored by SRM Stickers this week!  The challenge is to use a sticker on your paper project.  It doesn't have to be an SRM Sticker, but I highly recommend them!  :)

Happy Friday, friends!  :)

I {heart} SRM

It is no big secret that I adore SRM Sticker Sentiments!  :)  They are my favorite "go-to" embellishment, along with all the yummy My Mind's Eye papers I have been crushing on all summer long! The 5th and final challenge for The Paper Variety's Blogaversary is to use your favorite embellishment!  I have loved these "favorite" challenges they have had.  The layout I made is also for the G is for Gratitude challenge over at My Sketch World for the ABC Crop.

{monochromatic} hearts

Since my crafty time is limited, I like to be able to combine challenges.  Especially when 2 of my favorite places are having celebrations this month.   :)  The Paper Variety has turned 1 and My Sketch World is celebrating with a month long ABC Crop.  If I had to do separate challenges I would probably only be able to participate in one celebration and that would break my crafty heart!  Thanks to both Abby & Suzanne from TPV and Lucy from MSW for letting us share our creations!

The fourth challenge at TPV is a Monochromatic Color Challenge and the H Challenge over at MSW is to use 2 hearts (that aren't red) on a card.  For the color challenge I chose cream/beige.  I added a lot of texture by way of embellishments.  This card is a departure for me from my "less is more" style.

A Day Filled With Love
BoBunny, My Mind's Eye papers, SRM Sticker Sentiment, Precocious Paper Sweet Spot,
Heidi Swapp acrylic heart, Recollections flowers, K&Company brad, office tag, jute ribbon,
pearl stick pin, buttons, lace trim, ribbon.

The last challenge for the Blogaversary is up today at The Paper Variety.   The ABC Crop goes until the end of the month, with both card and layout challenges.  I almost forgot to add that I used a sketch from Mojo Monday for this card:

{favorites}

It just so happens 2 of my favorite places, The Paper Variety and My Sketch World  are celebrating this month!  The Paper Variety has turned 1 and is having a Blogaversary Party this week!  My Sketch World is having a month long celebration in the form of a fun ABC Crop!  I managed a card that fits nicely for each of their challenges!  Loves me a "two-fer!"  :)

TPV challenge is to use your favorite manufacturer.  My Mind's Eye has been a favorite as of late.  I love their 6x6 paper pads-the smaller scale patterns work nicely for card making.  All of the paper and the sentiment label is "Lime Twist."  The sentiment, of course, is SRM!

many thanks

The F Challenge over at MSW is to use four things on a card; a flower, a font, fringe and fall colors.
I didn't quite know how I was going to fit a flower on this card, so I pulled out my stamps (taking Kelly's advice to spend more time with them) for the second time this week and stamped some tiny flowers on the white cloud.  Here is a close-up:

Thanks for stopping by today!  Happy Saturday, friends!

{stamping}

I don't pull my stamps out for just anybody.  I have a bunch of stamps. All kinds. All shapes, loads of alphabets. Lots of sentiment stamps too.  I get all caught up in the buying of them and haven't really taken the time to get to know them.  They are like casual acquaintances, my stamps and I.  :)

 Abby & Suzanne at The Paper Variety are having a Blogaversary Party this week to celebrate TPV turning 1!  The first challenge of the party is to use stamps on a paper project.  And I love those girls to bits, so I stamped.  :)  My card turned out to be a weird combination of rustic and elegant.  Go figure.

You can find the lovely sketch I used at Card and a Half Blog.

{mr.&mrs.}
Hero Arts stamp, Little Yellow Bicycle papers, SRM Sticker Sentiment,
Recollections paper rose, Offray ribbon flower, Folk Art paint

Rustic and elegant, right?  Thanks to both The Paper Variety and Card and a Half for the wonderful challenges!  TPV Blogaversary Party lasts all week!  A new challenge and prize every day!

Happy Thursday, friends!  I hope happy finds you today.  :)

{a} arrow challenge

I celebrated getting the 3 boys off to school yesterday with a little crafting.  The ABC Crop is in full swing at My Sketch World!  I always manage to do the card challenges first and then try to catch up with the layouts.  I found these photos from Brian's first day of pre-school and wanted to use the Sweet Spots I got from Tessa's ETSY shop Precocious Paper.  I used the September sketch from Lucy.

Paper: Jenni Bowlin, Scenic Route, Thickers, SRM Sticker Sentiment, Precocious Paper Sweet Spots

I don't do many 12x12 layouts anymore, but am happy with the way this turned out.  I'm hoping to get some crafty time today.  The Studio Challenges is having a school themed challenge this week, check it out here.  The ABC Crop at My Sketch World goes all month with both card and layout challenges! Dont forget to check out The Paper Variety's Blogaversary!  There is a Hop and a challenge this week, including a challenge to use you favorite photos (which these are!).

Happy Wednesday, friends!

{d} diecut challenge

The ABC Crop at My Sketch World is in its 4th day which means we have a "D" challenge today!
The challenge is to use a die cut on a card.  I chose to use a die cut journaling spot on my card.

"Hello Friend"
MME paper, Prima rose, SRM Sticker Sentiment
Fancy Pants Journaling Spot, jute ribbon

Here is a close-up.  I've had that ribbon for over a year without knowing what to do with it and now I cant stop using it!  Isn't that the way it goes with some supplies?

I hope you can join us for the ABC Crop!

Happy Sunday!  Hope happy finds you today.  :)

{abc} crop

It's September and you know what that means right?  It is time for the month long ABC Crop at My Sketch World!  Details can be found here.  There are both card and layout challenges and plenty of time to get them done!  And did I mention there are prizes?  Oh yes there are!  Come join us!!

We are on day 3 which is the C Challenge (a color challenge, of course!).  I'm behind (of course)  and have only done the B challenge, which is to use 2 butterflies on a card.

Birthday Wishes
MME paper, Pebbles butterflies, SRM Sticker Sentiment

I used this sketch from PageMaps:

The Paper Variety is turning one!  Happy Birthday TPV!  They are having a Blogaversary Celebration next Wednesday!  (see my sidebar)  Their current challenge is to make a birthday related project with a banner on it.  I think my card fits!  :)  Thanks for another fun challenge!  It is Abby's  (she and Suzanne co-founded TPV) birthday this week-Happiest of Happy Birthdays, Abby!

Happy Saturday, friends!

{winner} and thank you.

I'd like to thank everyone for stopping by for Tessa's Birthday Blog Hop!  Wasn't it fun?  And the projects?  Oh my gosh, don't get me started on those!  :)  Don't forget about the free shipping code you can use if you place an order at Tessa's ETSY shop,  Precocious Paper by Monday, the 5th.

I'm so not technical. I used the random number generator but cant for the life of me get it to show up here.  *laugh*  :)  The winner of the $5 gift certificate to Precocious Paper is Margie!

Congrats Margie!

I will be emailing you with the information shortly.  :)
