{sketch 4} msw

Is it hot where you live?  After nearly 100 degrees for 2 days in a row, with a hot breeze that felt like someone was pointing a hair dryer at you, 89 will be a welcome temperature today!  That coming from a gal who loves temps in the 70's!   :)  I'm hoping my AC will hold out for the rest of the summer, it has gotten quite a work out already.

Here is my 4th and final sketch for my month long challenge at My Sketch World. Not only do I want the sketch used, I want to see a unique twist on it.

I rotated the sketch to the left one turn.  I used the sketch for the tag element on my card, treating the button as the flower element and the flower as the circle element with the offset paper strip underneath as the squares on the sketch.

Papers: BG, MME and LYB, Sticker Sentiment: SRM, Flower: BG

I haven't mixed manufacturers in a while, for 2 reasons, Ive fallen completely head over heals in love with anything MME designs and my scrap room is a mess and Ive been lazy and only using what is at arm's length.  :)  I'm in serious need of a clean and purge.

I'm off to work on a couple projects today and then seeing a movie with friends this afternoon.  So excited - I don't get to hang with my BFF much so this is a special treat!

Happy Tuesday, friends - I hope a little bit of happy finds you today!

{sketch 3} msw

This week has brought us some much needed rain and a slight break in the high temps/humidity, although the high temps are on their way back today.  Regardless, I was happy to open my windows the last couple nights - wonderful sleeping weather!

The boys and I also got to spend some time with  my sister and her family at her vacation rental. Boat rides, the beach and smores made for an awesome time! (and some great photos to scrap!)  :)

I'm a few days late (sorry!) posting my third sketch for my month long challenge at My Sketch WorldYou can see the first sketch here and the second here.  I'm offering up a RAK to one person who does all 4 sketches with their own unique twist.

Here is the third wonderful sketch by Lucy:

I rotated the sketch twice to the left, added the elements under the sentiment and broke up the wide vertical rectangle into individual squares.

Paper: MME, Sentiment: SRM, Label: Elle's Studio
Here is a close-up:

Still getting comfortable with all the settings on my camera.  Slowly but surely I will get it eventually.  :)  Old dog, new tricks...

I'm loving all the photos I'm seeing from CHA!  I have my eye on some new products that I cant wait to see in real life!  Happy Saturday, friends!  I hope happy finds you today!

{sketch 2} msw

My challenge this month at MSW includes adding a new card sketch each week and putting a bit of a twist on it.  You can see my first sketch here.  (still working on mastering my new camera-way too many settings to learn!)

This is another favorite sketch of mine:

All I did was rotate it one turn to the left.
Paper: LYB, Crab punch: Fiskars, Sticker Sentiments: SRM, Ribbon: May Arts

I added the elements to the inside of the circle.

I wrapped a sentiment around the circle (love this!) and added another to the bottom of the card.
That plastic piece is from a package of embellies.  All I did was create the scene on a piece of background paper and adhered it to the square part of the packaging and then adhered that to the backside of the front of my card.  So easy.  :)

Anyone who does all 4 sketch challenges will have a chance at a RAK!  Hope you can join in on the fun!

Happy Wednesday, friends!  Hope happy finds you today!

{playing}

I'm pretty sure this is my first blog post that is accompanied by a warning.  ;)  There is a new baby in the house, no - not that kind of baby, this kind.

I've never had or used an SLR so it is slow going for this tech challenged gal.  :)  So bare with me until I get it right, until then the photos shown here may be not so stellar.

I visit Laurel's blog as often as I can!  Her design are fresh and full of happy.  :)  She has a fun challenge blog called Inspired ByI finally got the time to play.

This is the fabulous photo inspiration for Challenge #31

Isn't it darling? I love the cottage look and these great colors. Here is my card.

Not only did I take the colors from the photo, I also used stripes from the chair cushions. The banner was inspired by the hanging pot holder and the wood window from the white wood cupboards.  Thanks for a great inspiration challenge. Laurel!

I used a Page Maps sketch for that card and for this one as well:

I had some yummy new Elle's Studio tags to play with and they worked great with this paper from LYB.

The hot and humid weather has finally let up over the last 2 days!  Hoping to head to the park this afternoon with the boys.  Hope your day is full of lots of happy!

{sketch challenge} flipped

I get to host one of the card challenges at My Sketch World this month.  I love Lucy's card sketches!  I am going to choose a new sketch each week and put my own spin on it, you know - flip it, rotate it, use a different shaped card for it - that kind of thing.  That's what makes sketches so versatile!

Here is this week's sketch:

I flipped the sketch and moved the sentiment on my card:

Paper: Christy Tomlinson, Sentiment: SRM, Flower: BG, Ribbon: vintage

I adore those Basic Grey flowers, the colors they come in are so pretty! Getting them half off at JoAnn's was pretty nice too.  :) Although I'm wishing I would have grabbed more.

I will be playing with a new sketch next week so I hope you will check back, or better yet, join us at My Sketch World!

{card sketch} MSW

Lucy has given us another fabulous card sketch to work with this month!

I rotated the sketch and came up with this simple version of it:

Sorry for the sub-par photos.  My kitty, Lucky, couldnt resist my camera strap that Brian had left dangling from the table.  The lens is stuck and it wont turn on.  :(  These were taken with Brady's camera and I just couldnt get the settings right.

Im looking to buy an SLR and would love any recommendations!

Join us at My Sketch World this month!  We have all new card and layout challenges, there is sure to be something for everyone!  :)  Check out the blog to see both the card and layout projects from the DT!

Happy Monday, friends!
