{jugs} photo inspiration

Just Us Girls is having a terrific photo challenge this week! A perfect summer photo to get your creative juices flowing and maybe your mouth watering too!  :)

Fun, right?  I made this card a while ago, but never blogged it, and I think it fits this challenge perfectly!

Here is the fun part:

I broke out my Fiskars fancy edge scissors for the "lettuce".  Thanks for the fun challenge JUGS girls!

Remember to keep checking the SRM blog this week for all of the new sticker reveals!  Leave comments everyday and you could win!

{reveal week} SRM

SRM is coming out with some awesome new stickers and it is Reveal Week on the blog!  The new Stickers by the Dozen (SBTD for short!) are something a lot of crafters have asked for - multiples!  I had the pleasure of working with the Birthday set. In just 2 hours and a couple of sticker sheets I was able to put together this birthday quartet!
Photo Invites

I printed these at home on photo paper, trimmed them up, added the You're Invited sticker to the bottom  and decorated them.  A little hint, if you are using the round sticker on a punched piece, I find it easiest to place the sticker on the background paper first and then punch.

Drink Cups

Instead of writing the kids' names on the cups, they can keep track of theirs by the number sticker they get. I added the "Let's Party" border sticker to the cup and decorated the straws with the cupcake stickers.

Bubble Tube Favors

I simply used a craft knife to cut a slit in the tube top to slip the bubble wand through.  I filled the tubes with bubble solution, added some border stickers and the tiny repeating sentiment from the Birthday SBTD.

Cupcake Flags

I added the cupcake sticker to a flag label from Labels By the Dozen and popped the "make a wish" sentiment from the Birthday borders to create a cute cupcake flag.

These new sticker sets make birthday parties fun and easy to put together!  Check out the rest of the new Stickers by the Dozen on the SRM Blog! There will be new stickers revealed all week long so be sure to check back!

Thanks for stopping by, I hope happy finds you today!

(june card} msw

It is a "blast from the past" month at My Sketch World! For our sketch this month Lucy let the designers choose a past sketch to work with.  It was hard to choose since I have so many favorites, but I finally settled on this one:

I made this card for my nephew and his bride who are getting married the end of this month.

Paper: MME, Fancy Sentiment: SRM, Potty People: Studio Calico, Doily: MS

It is funny the things you find out about your design style while creating, isn't it?  I have found, while making this card, that I have trouble with pattern paper that has different sized shapes on it.  I love this paper, but now I know why I had such trouble using it. I love it on this card, it just needed the right sketch is all.  :)

Check out the My Sketch World blog to see all of the DT's cards, you are sure to find some wonderful inspiration!

Happy weekend, friends! I hope happy finds you in a big beautiful way today!

{no more teachers}

No more books. (no more getting up at 6:00 am!)  :)  At least for a little while!  Today is the last day of school for my boys!  We are looking forward to a fun, busy summer!

Here are my boys.

Brenden will be a senior next year.  Unbelievable.

Brady will be a junior.

Brian will be in 4th grade.

Happy boys indeed. (and a very proud momma)

Brian and I worked on his teacher's gift together.  I have made one of these for almost every Elementary teacher all 3 boys have had.  Some have had them framed and hung them in their classrooms!  Such a fun project and so easy to do!

Here are a few close ups.  I used a bunch of SRM school themed stickers and a few Jolee dimensional stickers.  Brian decided on the words and I adhered them with craft size Glue Dots.

I'm linking this to the Scrapscene Blog's WIP thread.

I like the older Scrabble boards better, they have less color on them so the letters and embellies stand out a little better.  I haven't been able to find one in a couple years though.  :(

Check back tomorrow, I will have the June card for My Sketch World!  Happy Thursday!

{a is for...}

I'm trying really hard to get caught up with the ABC Crop going on at My Sketch World.  I'm not a fast crafter and my crafty time has been somewhat limited lately, so I am behind!  We  have the whole month to play though, so it's all good.  :)  The A Challenge is to make an adult birthday card.  We had a list of sentiments to choose from for our card.

Pocketful of Wishes

Here is a close up of the sentiment I chose, Half computer generated and half SRM Sticker.

There are 10 little "wish strips" in the pocket just waiting to be filled out!

Happy Friday, friends!

{C is for Circles}

I haven't done a "two-fer" in a while.  :)  With the end of the year school activities and 2 boys in in-line hockey leagues and one in soccer my crafty time has taken a hit lately.  I made this card for the My Sketch World ABC Crop "C is for Circles" challenge and for the lovely ladies over at Just Us Girls.   Challenge #139 is a fabulous sketch challenge!

The Sketch.

Happy Birthday

The MSW challenge was to use at least 4 circles.  I managed that with a brad and 3 pearls.

Happy Wednesday, friends!

{B is for Banner}

My Sketch World is hosting an ABC Crop the entire month of June! 26 challenges in all including both card and layout challenges!  There is something for everyone!  Come join in on the fun with us!  Did I mention there are prizes

I'm getting started with the letter B. The challenge is to make a layout with a banner. My buddy Val is on the DT over at Elle's Studio and I found a wonderful sketch on their blog and used that for my layout.

Photo Booth (Fun)

Here is a close up of the banner, I hand stitched the twine.

This photo booth was at my niece, Tracey's wedding reception.   My sister Pam, Brian and I went in together and couldn't stop laughing.  Then Brian went in with my nephew, Brad for some crazy boy time.

  Funnest time ever.  :)

Happy Tuesday, friends!  I hope happy finds you in some small way today.

{the studio sunday}

We have an exciting challenge for you over at The Studio Challenges! We are joined by the Jenni Bowlin DT this week and up for grabs is a $25 GC for the JBS store!  And get this, it is for this challenge only.  In 2 weeks we will have another challenge with another $25 GC for the JBS store!

It's time to get your vintage on, people! :)  Use a vintage photo, color scheme or use vintage ephemera on your layout and link it up!

Remember When

I used a vintage photo of my Dad, circa 1942, and some beautiful vintage color/patterned paper from Graphic 45.  Added a few vintage looking embellies and used a lot of Distress Inks.

I hope you get a chance to play along this month!  Happy Sunday, friends!
