{sew much fun} TPV

This week's challenge over at The Paper Variety is all about sewing!  Machine, hand or faux-it's all good!
I love to sew on my cards and layouts!  For this week's layout I got out the embroidery thread and did a lot of hand sewing.  I love to hand sew!  I find it relaxes me.  I really should learn to sew on fabric, but for now I will stick to paper.  *laugh*  I added a bit of machine stitching to my layout as well.

Here is a close-up of my hand stitching:

I used a backstitch to outline the flower and a straight stitch and french knots for its center.  Here is a link to a PDF of basic stitches that you can dowload from Paper Crafts.  Be sure to check out the TPV blog and see the awesome projects the DT made this week!

Have your newly created paper project that includes some sort of stitching on it linked up by noon EST Sunday, February 27th to be eligible for the Submission Spotlight and by noon EST Tuesday, March 2nd to be in the running for this awesome prize:

Hold on to your hats people!  There's more!  The Paper Variety will be holding its first ever Blog Hop!
That's right!  Mark your calendar for Wednesday, March 3rd!  Come join the fun!

  9. I love sewing by hand, too - you did an amazing job on this layout. You should frame this beauty - the way you outlined the flower is so pretty (and look at those perfect stitches!)
