Today is my last day at the Just Imagine Crafts blog.  I had a wonderful time guesting with their awesome Design Team this month!  :)  Thanks for having me, Just Imagine!

 

I have yet to tire of, or find all the possible combinations for, the Kreaxions Punch #914! Today I have made a corner bookmark with a punched border.

 



 

For the border I used the cut away pieces from previous projects.  I then added the beautiful scalloped pieces for the trim.  I used the circle cutter to add a small circle to the snowflake so I could add the heart button to it.

 

 

I didn't use a tutorial for mine, I just figured it out as I went along, but I did find this tutorial for those of you who are interested.  It is pretty close to what I did and you can make it your own as you go.

{snow globe}

Merry Christmas Eve, friends!  It's here, are you ready?  :)  I have much to do after a bout of food poisoning had me in bed nearly all day yesterday.  :( 

 

When my sisters and nieces were visiting in November for our annual Christmas shopping trip I loved the holiday displays at Sears.  They had these huge jars turned upside down with sparkling trees inside with a layer of "snow".  I took a photo, as I'm prone to do when I see awesome inspiration, and new I wanted to try it on a smaller scale. 

 

This is what I came up with.

 

 

The SRM Winter Sticker Sentiments were the perfect addition!  After placing the stickers on the jar I used my stippling brush and 'pounced" some white in over them to give them a "frosty" appearance.

 

This is one of those projects that looks better in real life - I photographed it from every angle but just couldn't capture the magical feeling it has.

{bag & a tag}

I was honored to be asked to join in on the Christmas DT Reveal over at Just Imagine Crafts, where I have been guesting this month.  Be sure to check out the DT's holiday cards and layouts!  I have been loving the Kreaxions punch #914.  The combination of the cute holly and the pretty scallop has me giddy.  :)

 

For my bag I used some older, but still some of my very favorite, Making Memories Christmas papers. 

 

I added a punched border to the bottom of the pattern paper border sheet. I punched a strip using light green card stock and backed it with dark green paper to make the holly leaves pop. I used red pearls for the berries. I then punched 2 borders out of dark green and cut off the scallop and layered them at the bottom of the border.

 

 

I used the super easy to use circle cutter to cut a circle in the text paper.  I rounded the corners of the paper and adhered it to the bag along with the glittery snowflake.

 

 

I cut down the circle a little bit to make the tag. Added a felt holly embellie along with an SRM sentiment and tied it to the bag with some Twinery Twine.

{glassine & ribbon}

SRM has a new product - glassine bags!  There are 5 sizes to choose from, all to meet your crafty needs!  :)

 

 

I got busy with the 4x6 (add a 3/4 to each of those-fractions are hard to type!) size bag. I made a bag for a wedding - it could be used as a favor, as a fancy envelope for a handmade card or GC and it is the perfect size for some special photos.

 

 

 

I used a basket weave ribbon technique to dress the bag up.  I put a piece of cardboard inside the bag and cut diagonal slits the width of the ribbon from right to left on the top of the bag. I approximated  how much ribbon I would need and cut that length.  I then applied Strano Designs Ribbon Stiff to a piece of their wonderful grosgrain ribbon and let it dry.  Ribbon Stiff makes the ribbon easy to work with and cut, without any unraveling. I started with the longest piece first, the bottom right corner to the top left corner, weaving the ribbon in and out of the glassine bag. .  I used a glue dot to anchor the ends. You continue this process until you cover the entire front of the bag. I waited until this point to trim the ends so I would have a straight clean cut.  Yes, the bag needs some tender loving care during this process.  :) 

 

 

I then adhered half of a paper doily to the flap, added a ribbon flower (tutorial can be found here), some pearls and a Fancy Sentiment from the Love set.

 

 

If I have a chance I will do a picture tutorial of the weaving process with some colored ribbon sometime over the holiday break.

{it's a wrap}

It is my third Sunday on the Just Imagine blog using their awesome Kreaxions punches!  Let me say (for the third Sunday in a row!) how versatile these punches are and how many looks you can get from just one punch! 

 

 

 Today I have made a border wrap for a magnetic paper pad my son will give to one of the support staff at his school.  I went with the pad colors; red, grey and white to make the border.  I used the Kreaxions 4 in 1 punch #914.  I used it without an insert on both the red and grey paper, but used different parts.  I cut a strip of red paper 3" wide and ran the punch up both sides- it is so easy to line this punch up for identical sides! I then cut some borders out of the grey paper, but used the cut away for the triangle shaped trim.  I layered it all with a strip of white to make the holly pop and wrapped it around the paper pad.

 

 

My second project is a simple ornament.  I used the Just Imagine circle cutter and the 4 in 1 punch again.  The circle cutter easily handles the heavy card stock and is oh so easy to use! 

 

 

I used the punch without an insert and trimmed away those cute scalloped pieces and adhered them to the back of the grey circle. I cut a second grey circle to finish off the back, added an SRM sticker sentiment to a paper doily and adhered it to the circle and glued the whole thing onto a sparkly plastic snowflake.

 

 

My heart is heavy over what has happened in Connecticut.  The Christmas season is for celebration, joy and peace, not sorrow of this magnitude.  I pray for the families of this tragedy - hoping they can eventually find peace in their hearts. 

A little light for the holiday season.

(simple ombre)

I am guesting on the Just Imagine Crafts blog this month.  I have been a punch girl for a very long time.  When border punches came out I was a happy girl!  I thought I had seen it all with punches, but the Kreaxions 4 in 1 punches are awesome!  One punch, you can use 4 different ways and oh so easily!  For today's project I used #914.  I used it without an insert because I adore that little scallop detail and for this card I wanted a chunky border.

Isn't that border fabulous?  I love the little holly too, so pretty!  A holly embellie, SRM sentiment and some twine pull it all together.

{christmas cheer} srm style

It's my turn on the SRM blog today.  Being in the spirit of all things Christmas, I have a couple gifty projects to show.  :)  The first is a Magic Reindeer Food Tube!  This would be a fun little something to give a child on the night before Christmas.  :)

 

I used an SRM Mini Tube and one word from the Christmas We've Got Your Border set.

 

The recipe for the magic reindeer food is equal parts uncooked quick oats, sugar and colored sugar (please don't use craft glitter, it's not good for the reindeer!) Here is a little poem that you can include with the tube:

 

Be sure to take this magic food and sprinkle on the lawn,

On Christmas, Santa's reindeer travel miles before the dawn.

The smell of oats and glitter path will guide them on their way,

And you'll wake up to Santa's gifts next morn on Christmas Day!

 

The second project is a mini tree and ornament set, perfect for a classroom, hospital room, retirement home or a tiny apartment. 

 

 

I wrapped the base of the tree with a felt square and secured it with a rubber band.  I layered the SRM Christmas Border sticker on a strip of white felt, wrapped it around to hide the rubber band and secured it with a brad.

 

 

I layered a Christmas tag from the Labels By The Dozen set on a piece of red felt, added a felt snowflake and placed a Christmas sentiment from the Stickers By The Dozen on it and placed it in the tree branches. 

 

The SRM Tube is a perfect place to store (and protect!) the mini ornaments!  I decorated it with stickers from the Christmas Borders and Stickers By The Dozen sets.

 



 

SRM can make decorating, crafting, card making and scrapping for the holidays so easy!

{scrabble tree}

I'm guesting over at the Kreaxions blog this month!  So excited!  :) I've been a "punch girl" for as long as I can remember!  I have quite a collection, but the the Kreaxions punches take punching to a whole new level!  This week I got to play with their circle cutting system.  I cant believe how incredibly easy it is to use!  It cut circles as small as a 1/2" all the way to a 10".  Check out this video to see how easily it is done!

 

I wanted to see how easily it cut the smallest circles, figuring those might be the most difficult to cut.  Not with this system!  It easily cut my 1/2" and 3/4" circles without any problems.  I used the circles as "ornaments" on my Scrabble Tree project.

  

 

 

Next week I get to work with one of their 4 in 1 punches - talk about a game changer!  :)

{it's a wrap}

It is back to back days for me on the SRM blog!  Today I have a couple "out of the box" gift wrap ideas to share.  :) 

 

The first is a fun  birthday GC holder! 

 

I backed the embroidery hoop with cardstock. I then cut 2 circles of different patterned paper for the front.  I cut them in half and adhered the zipper to the bottom half and then cut the top part to fit and adhered that to the zipper.

 

 





 

I decorated it with the Birthday We've Got your Border set and some sentiments from the Birthday Stickers By The Dozen and a double bow of twine from the Twinery.  I backed the top half of the circle with cardstock to make it somewhat heavy. This is so the top will stay flat against the hoop without any adhesive.

 

I then applied permanent adhesive to the bottom circle and adhered it to the hoop.  The zipper opens to reveal the GC inside.  :)

 

 



 

My second "out of the box" project, is well...a box.  :)

 

 

I spray painted a covered paper mache' heart shaped box with some glitter paint (awesome stuff!). I added the pretty polka dot scalloped border from the  Valentine We've Got Your Border set to the outside of the top. I added some ribbon, another border sticker and the scalloped circles with a heart sticker on top. 

 

 

The wand was left over from a previous craft project so I thought it would be fun to add to this box. 

 

 

I added some borders to the ribbons for some color and texture.  

 

Next time you have to wrap a gift look no further than your crafting supplies!  :)
