Till the Very End.

The month long Spring Fling over at My Sketch World is coming to an end tomorrow (Monday) at midnight.

How did that happen?  May is over?  It's going to be June?  June, people!  Already.  That went fast.  So fast I didn't get all the challenges done that I wanted to.  I'm happy with what I made though!

Hope you all are enjoying your Memorial Day weekend.  Blessings to the families of those who have lost their lives protecting the freedoms we hold so dear.  A big thank you to the men and women presently serving in our military today, what you do each and every day is appreciated so very much!

I thought I'd share some hairbands I made for Strano Designs a while back.  Their ribbon is gorgeous.  Beautiful colors, pretty patterns and Lou & Jen are the nicest people!  These were made to show what their product, Ribbon Stiff could do.  I guess with a name like that it doesn't need much explanation now does it?

Ribbon Stiff is a liquid similar to white glue.  You brush it on the ribbon, let it dry and then....drum roll please...you can punch it, sew it, cut it and even apply rub ons to it!  It's also good for brushing on the ends of ribbon to prevent fraying.

The possibilities are endless!  I haven't made one in a while.  Might just have to put a tutorial together for you!

{Tiny} Flower Power

One of the challenges for the Spring Fling Crop over at My Sketch World is Katie's Handmade Flower Challenge.  It entails 2 or more handmade flowers on a card.  I knew finding a flower to make would be easy-there are so many flower tutorials out there right now!  I found a few flowers I wanted to try, but in the end, I decided to make them on my own. 

I'm not sure why I like to make such tiny creations.  I have big shaky hands that don't always cooperate when I want them to.  Great for sports, but so much for placing tiny punched hearts on even tinier buttons!  

These are super easy to make! ( if you have small hands)  *laugh*  This could be done on a larger scale, but really, what's the fun in that?  Here's how it goes:  punch 6 tiny hears from cardstock, pop a mini glue dot on the back of a tiny button. Just for kicks, it should be the tiniest button in your stash!  Use your tweezers to place 3 of the hearts on the back of the button.  Add another glue dot and fill in the spaces with the other 3 hearts.  Easy peasy.  Here is the card I made for Katie's Challenge:

Spring Fling!

There are 2 weeks left to participate in the Spring Fling over at My Sketch World!  Lots of fun challenges and a couple of fun games to play. Lucy's crops are always fun and she gives us the whole month to play. 

Lucy also has a  a Guest Designer position up for grabs!  All you have to do is 5 or more of the Spring Fling challenges, post some so we can get to know you and have fun!  The gig is for June-August.  The deadline for this is May 28th with the winner being announced May 31st.

Moms Rock.

Whether you mother babies, toddlers, teens, or adults.  Whether you mother someone else's children or fur babies, Happy Mother's Day!  I'm not big on being spoiled, but I will admit to a wonderful breakfast at IHOP with my 3 handsome boys this morning!  Loved it. Love them.  So much. 

I'm thinking of my own Mom today as well. My Mom has been gone for almost 17 years.  She died of complications of Alzheimer's Disease at the young age of 64.  Watching her lose her memory was probably the hardest thing I've ever had to go through.  Part of why I scrapbook is because of her, so we have my family's memories recorded.  Memories that will out-live me.

I want by boys to share their childhood memories with their own family someday.  I want their scrapbooks to spark conversations,  bring back a long forgotten memory and for their children to be able to ask questions about what their life was like when they were young.

 Holding on, to each other, to our memories-isn't that what it's all about anyway?

 I will be playing at My Sketch World, where we started a month long "Spring Fling" today!  Loads of fun challenges and games and a whole month to play!  A new layout and card sketch were posted this morning too!  Come, join the fun!  It's a great place to hang out!

Citrus Tree Studios is also having a weekend crop!  The DT has 6 fabulous challenges to test your scrapping skills!  To qualify for the prizes you have to have projects posted by noon on Sunday, May 2nd.

My friend Suzanne invited me to play at Creative Cookbooking!  If you are one to take photos of your food and like to share your recipes in a creative way, this is the place for you!  They are having an Iron Chef Crop this weekend with loads of fun challenges!

Here is a project I made from a tutorial Suzanne posted at Creative Cookbooking.  It's a bookmark! It was so fun and super easy to do!
